Meet The Team

Helen Muir
“I have a thirst for knowledge and consider myself a life-long learning nerd. I read a LOT! About medicine, health, wellness and technology, and am an avid researcher and consumer of innovative and cutting-edge information.
When I am not helping my patients, or sharing my knowledge with others, I enjoy having a good laugh and connecting with my family and friends. I find cooking relaxing and especially enjoy learning about and drinking good wine. For balance, I enjoy hiking, beautiful gardens with abundant birdlife and getting out into the bushveld. Oil painting is a passion I wish I had more time for and singing the blues in an underground club is on my bucket-list.
One of my favourite sayings is: “If I jump off the edge of a cliff, I may have forgotten to pack a parachute because I was so excited to leap, but I will always find paradise – or a piece of paradise to land on”.
Helen has Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Stellenbosch University, a Diploma in Homeopathy and is certified to help people with EMF challenges.
Her impressive career began with Scientific Research for the Dept of Endocrinology at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town. After establishing herself as a GP, she studied integrative and functional medicine, as well as the genetics of wellness in order to meet her patients’ requests for safer, non-invasive forms of healing. Around the same time, she became involved in helping cancer patients with integrative protocols to help them through their recovery to wellness.
A recognised speaker and co-author of multiple, published, scientific papers, her expertise is frequently sought out at wellness and medical events. As the Global Medical Director at Health Optimizing, a global health clinic franchise, she oversees all training and team development of high-tech methodologies, across five continents.

Jan Grobler
“I had a happy childhood as the eldest of four boys growing up on a farm in the Northwest Province of SA. As we were a handful, we were looked after by a local Bushman who taught us how to utilise and respect nature. This developed my life-long passion for the bush, and I became fascinated by nature and how things may appear random but are in fact organised. By looking at the patterns and signs that nature gives us we are able to use things that seem to be unusable.
Always a keen learner I’ve been told I’m the man to have on your team at a General Knowledge Quizz night and I have an impressive collection of indigenous bonsai that I’ve cultivated over the years.
Ultra-distance running is a passion, and I came 2nd in my age group in a Worldwide Exterra Triathlon at 52. I worked out early on in my long-distance running career that it costs much less to stay healthy, and that food and supplements play a huge role in well-being.”
Jan has multiple university degrees, including an M.Phil in Information and Knowledge Management from Stellenbosch University.
With over 30yrs of experience, Jan is particularly well-versed in business and system development, solutions architecture, and high-level Management Consulting. He has a solid and extensive business background, having managed some of the largest IT implementation projects in South Africa.
Besides high-level consulting, Jan is the Chief Operating Officer at Health Optimizing, a global health franchise, specialising in technology-based medicine.

Bruce de Jongh
“I’ve always had a vivid imagination and been interested in how things work. When I was younger, I built inventive Lego creations and took apart old electronics to explore their design.
Being outdoors is important to me as I’m fascinated by how animals and plants have been built to adapt to their surroundings.
My inquisitiveness, creativity and interest in biology and nature led me to become a Biomedical Engineer. A profession that allows me to make a positive difference – which I’m driven to do.
I’m physically active and, besides running and playing social squash, my passion for soccer sees me participate in a weekly Five-A-Side League, after which I enjoy an ice-cold, local craft beer with good friends.
Spending quality time with my family is a priority. Everything I do in life is for my wife, Amy, my two gorgeous daughters and our energetic Pug, Daisy.”
Bruce has a master’s degree in Mechanical (Biomedical) Engineering from Stellenbosch University,
Cape Town, and has wide experience in the development and manufacturing of medical technologies. In his global consulting work, Bruce assists companies with projects related to medical device design and development and certification.

Leé Griffin
“I’ve always been an explorer and adventurer, with diverse interests. I thrive on new and interesting challenges and I’m not afraid to step out of my comfort zone. This has led me to some fascinating places, projects, and causes.
Connecting deeply with those I love is a priority, and I find great joy in sharing a delicious meal, good wine and lots of belly laughs.
Animals, oolong tea, foreign films, telenovelas/K-dramas, whodunit books, meditation and my late life love, painting, are all happy places for me. Travel feeds my soul, as does beautiful things and creating a safe space with my friend group of strong women.“
Since leaving her corporate career to start her own business, Leé has been involved in building several companies, travelling the world, and creating brands that matter.
With a strong marketing, communication, and branding background, Leé coaches’ entrepreneurs launching new products or services, using lean start-up methodologies learned at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
